My break time browsing list for 1st Oct

·195 words·1 min

With a well-timed (but much needed) holiday last week I’m just catching up with all the exciting announcements and news coming out of Microsoft’s Ignite conference. I’ve found a few good videos to quickly summarise what’s new and what I’ll be getting my teeth into.

With SQLBits this week, organising Hacktoberfest Scotland and talking about it on the Cloud Skills show later today (shameless plug) I haven’t had a lot of “break time” for any browsing.

Here’s what I’ve been reading and watching this week:

Adam Saxton of Guy in a Cube runs through all the news from Ignite and what’s new in Power BI. The biggest one for me was “Premium-per-user”, driven by Chris Finlan. This is a fantastic licensing update that’s filling the gap for SMEs.

Another one from Simon, he better not be getting a big head about this. Its a great summary of what’s new with Spark and some other bits in the data world. Thanks again Simon!

That’s all I have for this week!
